GIANGAETANO PATANÉ  was born in Rome on 15th November 1968. In 1994 he attended the College of Art of Edinburgh, in 1996 he placed a bronze monument in S. Maria in Ara Coeli-Rome, in 2000 and 2002 he was awarded scholarships that brought him respectively to Sydney and Cologne. In 2003 he was acquired by the Private Banking BNL collection. In 2013 he entered the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art R. Bilotti Ruggi d’Aragona - Rende (CS). His painting is focused on the intimate dimension of personal relationships, exploring the the dialogue between man and woman and the representation of their unconscious world. In the last three years he moved from the lyric figurative to a more abstract approach where the human presence has become hermetic and the existence assumed original forms enriched by tridimensional interventions on the pictorial surface.  In August 2018 the CCTV (Chinese National  NetWork) produced a documentary on his work “da Xi’an a Roma”. He is present in public and private collections.
